Retired couple win holiday vouchers in AquaCare draw

17 October 2007

A RETIRED Corfe Mullen couple are planning a trip to warmer climes after winning £250 worth of holiday vouchers in a prize draw.

More than 500 entries were received in the contest which was staged by AquaCare, the property services and maintenance arm of Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water.

It was held during the Ideal Home Show at the Bournemouth International Centre in September with the winners invited to choose a digital camera to the value of £250 or holiday vouchers.

The winners, Eric and Audrey Giles, opted for the vouchers and are now considering using them to part-pay for a visit to one of their sons in Australia.

"It was a complete surprise when we got the call telling us that our names had been picked out - but a very nice one," said Mr Giles, 75, who worked in the gas and water industry for more than 40 years before retiring.

Simon Booth, AquaCare's Managing Director, said: "We had an excellent response to the competition and are delighted that the tokens went to two such worthy winners."

Editor's Note: Aqua Care, which is based in Christchurch, is the property services and maintenance business of Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water (BWHW). In February, the company doubled in size after BWHW acquired gas installation and maintenance firm Pre-Heat Ltd for an undisclosed sum. Together the enlarged business, which continues to trade under separate names, has an annual turnover in excess of £9 million and employs 120 staff. The majority are directly employed gas engineers and plumbers.
