Frequently Asked Questions
We define an emergency as a sudden or unforeseen incident which immediately exposes you to health risks, creates an immediate risk of loss or damage to your property or the contents inside or any incidents that immediately render your property uninhabitable. Electrical Emergency examples may include:
- complete power failure,
- accidentally exposed live wires and risk of electrocution,
- smouldering and smoking wiring, subject to the terms and conditions of cover.
You are covered for the provision of temporary repairs required to eliminate the emergency. However in some instances, a permanent repair may be effected if the repair costs involved would be equal to the cost of a temporary repair. All permanent repairs will right the damage caused by the incident.
Print our full terms and conditions document for a full list of exclusions, examples of which include:
- breakdown of central heating,
- loss or damage to any contents of the property,
- routine servicing or maintenance,
- the cost of replacement due to normal wear and tear,
- existing problems,
- any consequential loss or costs associated with the loss of use of the property,
- faults occurring outside the boundary of the property,
- call out charges where there is no emergency,
- repairs which are not carried out by our authorised contractors.
